New week...New hope!!

OK!  It's Monday.  The tape & bed boss lady pulled my guy off of my job to finish another job so he wasn't back to finish up this weekend.  I haven't heard from anyone yet (but, it's still early) today.  I'm hoping he can get back to finish up bedding and can start texture tomorrow.  I wanted to paint Wednesday because the forecast says it will be in the 70's then only in the 50's on Thursday and 50's and 60's for about a week more.   We should be able to paint in those temps but not until later in the day :-(

On the bright side I might go to Canton's First Monday Trade Days.  This is a huge flea market covering untold amounts of acreage with great stuff from new hand made stuff to garage sale finds.  But, high's in only the 50's and a north wind of 10 miles an hour will make it very chilly.  I'm not sure I'm prepared for that as I hate cold and even more than cold I hate wind.  But, we will see.  I really want to go.

Over the weekend my cousin and I drove into Mesquite (suburb of Dallas) to meet up with other cousins (her sister and daughters-in-law) for her birthday lunch at Olive Garden.  After eating, we stopped by Dollar Tree and visited Target to peruse the Dollar Spot section.  I got a few new goodies to use in 9 pocket letters and some pencil/memo pad crafts.  I got pencils, erasers, these great clear hobnail jars to use for storage in the new Studio!  Fun stuff!

Studio Progress

Friday, January, 20th some guys came over and sprayed in expanding foam insulation.

Spray foam is a chemical product created by two materials, isocyanate and polyol resin, which react when mixed with each other and expand up to 30-60 times its liquid volume after it is sprayed in place.

Left is the completed room and right is a close up of the foam.  Our home is also insulated with the spray foam.  It's an excellent insulation.  When it comes to our Texas summers this is extremely important.

Today a guy is coming to hang sheetrock.  Fingers crossed he shows up!  He was supposed to be here yesterday but postponed because he had to take his wife to the doctor.

Growing more excited every day!

Happy Crafting!

Waiting on Studio Completion!

In March of 2016 we began our journey to an addition to our shop for a carport for our travel trailer and a craft studio for me.  Finally, on 09-03-16 concrete was poured and thus began the process.  I wanted to set up this site for collecting information and pictures regarding my swaps and crafts which include Scrapbooking, Jewelry making and Quilting.

Today, 01-21-17, we are ready for sheetrock.  We hope to be complete by Mid February.  My plan is to start moving in all the stuff I have packed as soon as the flooring is laid.

For now, I am working on crafts and swaps (for Swap-bot.com) from one room to another.  Not very successfully and not very fulfilling.

I have found a new "thing" to try.  It's called Pocket Letters.  This is where you take a trading card binder sheet and fill it with little bits your swap partner might like.  These swaps are usually themed around something or another and include a little letter to your swap partner.  It's like having a one time penpal with extras.

I found this as an example:
I can't wait until I can reach the stuff in my scrapbooking stash to make some of these.

Now, I wanted to post pictures of a "tag" I received from a partner from Swap-bot.com.  I started a string in a group forum for "I wish for..." tag.  I wished for:

Pink thread
Yellow thread
Pink lace
Any color ric rac

And here is what my partner sent:

I was just excited to get the great box with the wonderful stamps and then to open the box and get a ton of PINK stuff!  It was a great gift!  There are some pretty wonderful folks on Swap-bot.

I've got a few swaps open that I'm working on.  I'll post pictures of these as soon as I get them ready to mail to my partners.

If anyone reads this...Thanks!
