Back from Vacation!

Yesterday afternoon we got home from a week long cruise on Royal Caribbean's Liberty of the Seas cruise ship.  From Galveston, TX we went to Roatan, Honduras, Belize City, Belize, and Cozumel, Mexico.  We had a grand time.

Now, back to reality and working on the Studio!!!

So, when we left, I was waiting on this guy to install the kitchen countertop and backsplash.  He wanted to do it the weekend we left for the cruise.  I told him I wouldn't be available until today and would he still be interested in completing the job.  No response yet.  I'm going to wait until 4pm (time he gets off work) and if I don't hear from him I'm going to start looking for someone else.  I have all the material...just need the labor.  Plumber is due on Thursday.  I'm going to go ahead and let him do bathroom but, I'll just have to get someone to finish the Kitchen sink hook up later.  *sigh*

I'm going out to the shop to sort buttons by color!

Stenciling

Picked up a stencil at Michaels to decorate up the front of the drawers for the old "Home Interiors" cabinet I bought at a garage sale.  First I used gray chalk paint on the unit and the drawers.  The stenciling was done in white.  I just picked up Waverly chalk paint at Wal-Mart and it works just fine.  It's a smooth creamy paint.  It was really easy to work with and covered really well.

I made a Dotee for the Swap-bot group "Dotees for Everyone".  I've been hosting an Alphabet series.  This is "F".  It is Fluffy Flowered & Fairyed Flutterby.

Sorting a little at a time!

Happy Monday!  I went out to work in the Studio for a bit this morning and remembered to take a few pictures of the progress.

I started sorting all crafts into different categories.  I found I had glue in the Scrapbooking area, sewing area and the beading area.  Same for buttons!  Now they are all in one section.

I moved all the empty containers to one area.  I'll start using these as I start going through the piles I've sorted.

I got the Tiara quilter set up!  I'm going to check with the quilt store in Terrell to see if they give lessons.  I need to learn more about the quilter itself.

My sewing machine is set up.  The TV tray with the purple top is a travel ironing board Billy and I made.  I'm going to give it to a friend and cover another one with a fabric that better matches the gray in the room.

This is the tile for the kitchen backsplash.

Still no bathroom sink so when I turn on the A/C it needs someplace for the condensation to go.  I found this little jar to collect.

I doubled up the "Billy" shelves from IKEA.  Now they hold my large bins for scrap paper.  It also holds my Cricuts nicely.

That's all I have for today.  I'm going to get more set up around my desk tomorrow.

Happy Crafting!

Still sorting!

I took a little break from sorting over the weekend.  Friday, my Daughter and Son-in-law came down.  She wanted to get her hair highlighted and cut by the same girl she's been using for years.  When Billy got home from work we went to dinner at BNR Pitt Grill!  Saturday, Billy worked again and the three of us went to First Monday at Canton.  We walked over 6 miles and spent 6 hours shopping.  I was shopping for tables for the Studio but came up empty handed.  Sunday Heather and Chad headed home and I followed along.  I spent the night and on Monday we tailgated at the Ballpark in Arlington.  I spent the night there and came home yesterday.  When I got home I did a little cleaning and laundry and even mowed the yard.

This morning I ordered the Formica for the countertop.  It will not be delivered until next week but, the guy said he could get on it as soon as it comes in.  I picked up the tile.  It was a nice gray and white...mostly white stone looking tile.  Very pretty.  I also purchased a sink/faucet kit from Lowes.  All that's left is topping out plumbing and....to finish sorting.  Seems never ending!
