Scrapbooking is Sorted!

WOW!  I have a lot of scrapbook crap!  I got all of it sorted in different piles such as, embellishments, ribbons and fibers, adhesives, ink, stamps, stickers and etc.....  I'm going to skip over to fabric or beads tomorrow as either of those should be quicker to sort as I don't have as much or the accessories required are less.  I hope to have both beading and sewing sorted before Friday.  My daughter Heather is coming over and I'm going to get her to help me pick out each "tote" or such to put the scrapbooking stuff in.

A little bit of work!

It's starting to come together a little bit at a time!  I've spent the past few days opening boxes that have been packed for over a year and sorting through and putting things into like piles.  I haven't yet gotten to the scrapbook paper but, I can tell you now, it will not be pretty.  I've already got a pile of 12x12 paper packs over a foot tall.  There is a tote on the back porch with just as much and one up in the attic of the shop with twice that amount!  It's crazy how much a crafter can collect without knowing.

Here are a few pictures I took last night.

I bought the wrong desk top so my file and leg have no top.  This is the Alex file here with a Billy bookcase (missing shelves) behind it and just beyond is the three IKEA Trofast storage units.

This picture was taken from the front toward the back.  You can see my new chair.  Behind it is a lamp I got from Mother's house with a new shade from Target.  In this picture I have not yet moved one of the Kallax shelves to where it will be standing.

SNAFU!  The mini fridge is too tall for the hole.  We have to get our neighbor back over here to help fix that up!

From back to front.  I do have one desk set up.  I'm using the top to help sort.

Well, break time is over...time to get back at it.

A bit of Progress

Yesterday, the trim guy got most of the trim up.  He will be back tomorrow to finish caulking.   I have someone coming out tomorrow to quote on the countertop and backsplash.  Then I can get the plumbing topped out.  Woot!

Billy and I put together the Kallax shelves from IKEA.  These were quite easy to assemble.  The second took less than 30 minutes after we had practiced on the first one.  I'm going to a quilt show in Tyler Friday so I won't get to start setting up the room until then....but, I'll have all weekend to work on it.

Yesterday, I met some gals from the Aley Meetup craft group for lunch at the Victorian Lady Tea Room in Mabank.  We are going tomorrow evening to Stop-N-Gogh Art Studio to paint a picture.  It's one of those bring your wine and we will help you paint!  We are all looking forward to it!

Here are a few pictures of the current state of the Studio.
This is Billy finishing up on the second Kallax.  The stack of boxes on the card table behind it are full of beads sorted by color.

Here are the two (one is in back of the other) Alex file drawers.  I have a table top to go on top to make a second desk.  There are also some insulation foam boards on top.  I'm going to use spray baste to attach batting to these to use as quilt design boards.  There is also a spray bottle full of water to spray Biscuit, the cat, when he tries to climb on the screen and tear it up!!

This is my new chair.  CiCi sure is grinning big!  I guess she thinks it's her chair.

Trying to Organize!

Took a little trip to IKEA in Frisco, TX.  It was a 150 mile (round trip) drive for us.  I drove out there because Billy isn't very good at driving in the Dallas traffic.  He gets really frazzled!  But, I got really frazzled at one lady that was driving crazy!  Then I got behind her and we were going along just fine then she shot off to the left and I went straight just to bowl over a traffic barrel.  I crushed it!  Got it stuck under the car...backed up to finally get off the barrel.  Billy got out of the car to pull it out when one of the construction guys walking our way was just shaking his head!
Bought a few things for the Studio!
Picked up two of these (Alex) along with a table top to make a desk.

Two of these (Kallax) to make a lot of storage space.  This is not as big as it appeared to me in the picture.  Turns out it's about as tall as I am.  The top will be perfect for storing stuff too!

Trim guy says he will be here middle of next week or earlier.  I'm really excited to get this finished!

Shopping

Ordered a chair for the Studio today.  Should be here Monday.  I wasn't sure the color would match so I asked the saleslady what do I do if it doesn't look good.  She said they would buy it back but would charge me a re-stocking fee.  Bleck!  She did allow me to take the cushion home to match!  It looked gorgeous!  I took back the cushion and confirmed the order!  They were so nice letting me check it out!

Still waiting on the "trim" guy to get back from a camping trip!

For now....

YAY! Flooring has been installed!

We have flooring!

Funny!  It looks like the wall is blue but it's
gray and the flooring is really dark.
Nothing like it is in real life.

Tile is gray-ish but looks brown.

I've already started dragging stuff in!

These pictures were taken about 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon.  I have made three hauls from the house and the shop.  I'll take pictures again this afternoon when I get more moved.

Today, CiCi got a clean bill of health from her Vet!  No Heartworms!  YAY!  That is great news!
Now, we are about leave to see the CPA to get our taxes figured.  I'm hopeful it's not too bad.  Considering I got retirement compensation last year.  Fingers Crossed!!

Nothing new....

Flooring will be installed on Monday.  WooHoo!

Today a bunch of the girls in our family got together for a luncheon.  We ate, we laughed, and mostly enjoyed each others company.

Me, Laura, Stacey, Aunt Nan, Jordyn, & Summer

Mickey and Stacey are sisters.  I am their cousin as our mothers were sisters.  Laura and Summer are Mickey's daughters-in-law.  Emily and Kailee are Summers Daughters.  Jordyn is Mickey and Stacey's niece from their sister (my cousin) Karen.  Aunt Nan is married to Bobby who is my mothers brother.  Their daughter Diane is deceased.

I can't wait to get the flooring in and get pictures posted!

Only a Bit

Just the door to the bathroom has been added.  The flooring folks requested it be installed before they came in.  I haven't heard from them about an install date.  But, it hasn't yet been two weeks.  If I don't hear from them by Thursday I'll just give them a little call.

Spent the week with my friend that lives at Holly Lake Ranch.  She has a house on the lake.  She just completed a add-on to her back porch.  It now looks like a "Lodge".

We ate, played cards, played dominos, played dice and ate even more!  It was a great time.  It was a bit cool most the week but, we still had fun.  We even tried to do a bit of fishing on Saturday but the wind was blowing too hard, it was freezing and the fish were NOT biting.  Can't wait to go back.
